Sometimes simply called as the Emirates, the country is a federal absolute monarchy. The country was established on 2 December 1971 and is also a federation of seven emirates. The UAE is known for its oil reserves that are seventh largest in the world and its natural gas reserves are the seventeenth largest reserves int he world.
The constituent lands of UAE are Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Fujairah, Ajman, Sharjah, Ras al-Khaimah, and Umm al-Quwain. One of the absolute Monarchs and together they jointly form the Federal Supreme Council. Arabic is the official language of UAE.

A Blend of Many Cultures
The Emirati culture is based on the Arabian Culture as is influenced by many other cultures of Persia, east Africa, and India. The country has a varied society. The country celebrates Eid al Fitr as its major festival and the National Day on December 2 that marks the formation of United Arab Emirates. Males living in the country prefer wearing kandura that is an ankle length tunic specifically in white color that is woven in wool or cotton whereas the Emirati women prefer wearing an abaya, that is a black colored over garment that covers most of their body parts.
The Arabian Oryx or sometimes referred to as white oryx is medium sized antelope with a distinct shoulder bump, straight and long horns and of course a feathery tail. The animal was at its extinct in the wildlife but was preserved in the zoos and was reintroduced into the wildlife starting in the 1980s. Some myths were also associated with oryxes and one of them was the unicorn myth. It is considered that the on horn unicorn could be the oryxes that have lost its one horn. As the oryxes, horns are made up of hollow bone and if it loses any of its horns, it would have to live with one horn for rest of its life.
