Udaipur City PalaceThe Majestic Palace
Built by Maharana Udai Singh II & his successors over the period of 400 years, the majestic palace is situated overlooking the eastern shore of Lake Pichola. The royal palace, which is the largest palace in Rajasthan, also has one of a kind architecture with a fusion of Rajasthani and Mughal architectural styles. It is one of the favorite filming locations of major production houses where numerous films have been shot, including a James Bond film.
Jag MandirMeant for Parties and Leisure
Located on an island in Lake Pichola, the three-storied palace was used by the Maharanas to organize parties and spend their leisure time in summers. The beautiful palace is also an inspiration behind one of the Wonders of the World, Taj Mahal. Today, the splendid palace incorporates several beautiful structures, including the luxurious Darikhana Restaurant that serves mouth-watering flavors of Rajasthan.
Bagore ki HaveliConstructed with all Mirror Work
Bagore Ki Haveli is a 18th-century marvel, built on the coast of Lake Pichola by the Chief Minister of Mewar Royal Court. The haveli contains 138 rooms adorned with beautiful mirror work and Marwari style paintings. The haveli houses mesmerizing collection of unique possessions of Rajput clan such as hookahs, jewelry boxes, copper vessels and other items used by the Royal family. The place also has a great collection of period photos of Udaipur.
Saheliyon ki BariThe Alluring Gardens
Constructed for the young women who chaperoned the Princess of Udaipur as a part of her dowry, the beautiful garden is located on the bank of Lake Fateh Sagar. The grandeur architecture of the garden, which was created by Maharana Sangram Singh himself, is breath-taking with its lush green lawns, flowerbeds and marble pavilions. The garden also houses a museum, with stuffed cobra’s as main attraction.
Eklingji TempleThe Splendid Temples
One of the most famous temples of Rajasthan, Eklingji was build in the 8th century by Bappa Rawal, the legendary ruler of Mewar. The double storied temple has a magnificent architecture with its pyramid style roof and beautifully sculpted towers. The temple houses a marvelous four-faced idol of Lord Shiva, that stands 50 feet tall and depicts four different forms of Lord Shiva. The city of Eklingji encompasses 108 big and small temples located amid a ravishing valley; 22 Km to the North of Udaipur.
Lake Fateh SagarNature's Bliss
Named after a Maharana of Mewar, Lake Fateh Sagar is adorned by three islands where tourists can reach by boat. The lake is abode with natural beauty and stunning sceneries, being surrounded by hills with a dam on its eastern side. Lake Fateh Sagar hosted India’s first World Music Festival in 2016, where artists from 12 countries rendered their performances.
